Team Leader – Residential Children’s Home
Location: Winchester, Hampshire
Salary: £32,000–£34,000 + sleep-ins
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Benefits: 28 days’ holiday + birthday off, funded training, progression to Deputy Manager
Our client, a small residential home for up to three children is seeking a Team Leader to provide high-quality, trauma-informed care and lead a team of Support Workers. You’ll oversee shifts, respond to incidents, support care planning, and ensure a safe, nurturing environment.
Responsibilities:
– Lead and mentor staff, ensuring excellent standards of care
– Provide senior cover across days, evenings, weekends and sleep-ins
– Build positive relationships using PACE and trauma-informed approaches
– Maintain accurate records and uphold safeguarding and Ofsted standards
– Support daily operations and liaise with external professionals
Requirements
– Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
– Previous experience in residential childcare
– At least 12 months previous experience in a Senior/Team Leader capacity
– Confident supporting children with complex emotional/behavioural needs
– Able to lead shifts and make sound decisions
– Resilient, empathetic, and flexible
Desirable: Senior/Shift Leader experience, Level 5 ambition, knowledge of PACE, full UK driving licence.
