Overview
As Head of Payroll, you’ll take full ownership of the end-to-end payroll operation across multiple legal entities. Reporting into the senior finance team, you’ll manage and develop a small team, ensure full legislative compliance, and drive continuous improvement in payroll processes and systems.

Description
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the payroll function for the entire group
- Overseeing all payroll processes including RTI, PAYE, NI, auto-enrolment and benefits administration
- Managing relationships with HMRC and external stakeholders
- Ensuring timely production of all statutory payroll documents (e.g., P11Ds, P60s)
- Reviewing and enhancing payroll systems and controls (ideally with Dayforce experience)
- Leading and mentoring the payroll team
- Acting as the internal expert on all payroll-related matters
Profile
- Proven experience leading a payroll function, ideally in a multi-entity/group environment
- Strong technical knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Experience with Dayforce (Ceridian) is highly advantageous
- Ability to work collaboratively with Finance, HR and external agencies
- CIPP qualification or equivalent is desirable
